Location is everything

The project I'm leaning most towards will depend on its location to transport the viewer, so while actual text will be limited, I promise that I put in work for this assignment.

The main focus of my location scouting was outside, as I think this is where the project should end up. The only caveats to that is I will likely need power of some kind, and it needs to be a location that students will walk by but not super frequently. I also wanted a shady area preferably, but also one that would be comfortable or otherwise unusual to spend time in would be good too.

I'm gonna group these together roughly by how I feel about them.

I think these two really don't check any of the boxes I had in mind. They're already very close to areas students frequent anyway, and one of them even already has seating, although I've yet to see anyone actually use it. Maybe that's a strength, but even then, I'm not really a fan of these locations, and probably won't end up going with them.

These ones I'm more lukewarm about, but I still don't think are particularly strong. They're too boring, but boring in a bad way. Boring in the way that your favorite song can be after you listen to it too much. They're just too familiar, and I think people wouldn't care and/or wouldn't interact with things in these spaces.

I think these are more evocative, but still don't really hit the mark for me. The main problem I have with all of these though is that my project as I imagine it today would be in the way in all of these spaces, and something that's core to the idea is that it should be voluntary. As a result again, I probably won't go with any of these, but I like them more than any of the others so far.

These are all my favorite by far. I can see myself using all of these spaces in unique and interesting ways, and they all tick the boxes I need them to tick. I think they're also evocative already, which will help my case a lot. One of these will probably end up being the final spot unless I'm rejected from all three.
