Project mockup (and what I don't have)
Quick post to run through the final idea and also to give visual examples for what I don't currently have in my possession. The user-end items for the project are going to be stored in soup cans I recycle from my group housing space. I'll likely stick a nail through the bottom to keep them in the ground, maybe two if I need it. Inside the can is going to be a small journal and a couple pens (in case they get stolen). I'll also tape the instructions for the whole thing to the outside of the can so people can read it before committing to anything. Below are all the doors I ended up buying for the project. I ended up doing a small amount in different styles, mostly for monetary reasons unfortunately. I'm still unsure how I want to keep the doors in place. I really don't want to drill into a tree if I don't have to, even though the tree would probably be fine.
